Essential Job Functions: **This position is contingent on the availability and continuation of external-funding. As such, any offer of employment may be withdrawn or employment ended in the event the external funding ceases or is reduced.

FACULTY DUTIES:

1. Teaches appropriate related courses per validated academic credentials and area of expertise. Includes the selection and preparation of class materials which are relevant and informative, using computer technology as appropriate.

2. Achieves qualified (SA) Scholarly Academic, (PA) Practice Academic, (SP) Scholarly Practitioner, (IP) Instructional Practitioner status per AACSB Guidelines. If currently qualified, this status must be maintained.

3. Maintains proficiency in the teaching discipline. Standards in this area can be found in the NSU Faculty Handbook and the Huizenga College Faculty Handbook. Reasonable progress must be demonstrated at all times and is subject to review by the Dean or his designee.

4. As requested, supervise other instructional activities whereby the faculty member's knowledge and expertise is of benefit to the faculty members of the course being supervised and the students being taught in the supervised course.

5. As requested and necessary in the teaching discipline, write new courses and curricula; develop and/or enhance curricular innovations to include instructional technologies.

6. Provides service to the Huizenga College and University by engaging appropriate members of the business community; providing leadership in professional and academic associations; assisting in the recruitment of new faculty; assisting in the recruitment and retention of quality students; serving on Huizenga School and University committees and task forces; engaging in interactions with, and providing guidance to, student organizations; and participating in Internship programs.

7. Creates a positive and conducive learning environment for students.

8. Provides coaching, mentoring, and guidance to students. This may include the posting of and adherence to office hours.

9. Submits annually a portfolio of accomplishments to the Dean for the purpose of demonstrating faculty development and continuous improvement.

10. Adaptability to teach courses at the discretion of the Dean.

11. Performs other duties as assigned by the Dean.

DIRECTOR DUTIES:

1. Responsible for growing enrollment to the optimal level for the program.

2. Works with the Dean and his designee to create a branding campaign to gain national visibility for the Property Management Programs.

3. Works with college faculty and department chair for Public Administration and Real Estate to ensure that both academic curricula and co-curricula activities remain both current and innovative.

4. Publishes in relevant practitioner journals.

5. Oversees course development.

6. Generates recognition for the Property Management Program by participating in national, regional and local academic and professional conferences.

7. Recruits qualified adjunct faculty and students.

8. Participates in Alumni Association events.

9. Travels locally, nationally, or internationally for the purpose of teaching and other academic activities.

2. Serves on relevant university, college and community board and committees.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Knowledge of current industry/discipline concepts and practices, must have ability to organize activities and meet deadlines, ability to work with faculty across multiple disciplines, ability to review, understand, and apply concepts presented in training programs, conferences, and/or professional literature.

2. Ability to work collegially and cooperatively with other faculty, administration, students, and others.

Required Experience: 1. Minimum of three years of professional experience in property management industry.

For Assistant Professor rank: College-level teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Terminal degree (Ph.D./JD) preferred.
