Essential Job Functions: 1. Analyzes student application materials and credentials to determine complete educational history for purposes of applicant admissibility.

2. Contacts prospective students to present information and/or explain admissions requirements and/or curriculum by various means of communication.

3. Evaluates qualifications of prospective students utilizing established standards and guidelines.

4. Provides admission and scholarship recommendations, and updates information in the University student database.

5. Helps with admitted students’ outreach such as welcome calls and delivers admissions presentations.

6. Communicates with admissions team and follows specific instructions and procedures to meet departmental and university goals.

7. Assists in the development and implementation of recruitment strategies to attract prospective students to the Fischler Academy.

8. Interfaces with faculty, staff, and student service departments.

9. Develops and implements student success initiatives to enhance the overall experience for students in the Fischler Academy.

10. Monitors academic progress and provides proactive support to ensure student success.

11. Develops and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance recruitment efforts.

12. Collaborates with marketing and communications teams to develop promotional materials and outreach campaigns for the Fischler Academy.

13. Coordinates admissions and administrative activities with other personnel or with other work units.

14. Interprets and implements university or departmental operating practices, policies, procedures, and service standards in conjunction with management.

15. Reviews operating practices and procedures to determine whether improvements can be made in areas such as workflow, reporting procedures, or expenditures.

16. Performs general office duties, such as ordering supplies, maintaining records in management database systems, and performing basic bookkeeping work.

17. Sets up and manages paper or electronic filing systems, recording information, updating paperwork, or maintaining documents, such as attendance records, correspondence, or other material.

18. Schedules and confirms appointments for clients, customers, or supervisors.

19. Operates telephone equipment to answer, screen, or forward calls, providing information, taking messages, or scheduling appointments.

20. Maintains student data and integrity.

21. Completes special projects as assigned.

22. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Marginal Job Functions: 1. Performs administrative support tasks, such as proofreading, transcribing handwritten information, or operating calculators or computers to work with pay records, invoices, balance sheets, or other documents.
2. Prepares invoices, reports, memos, letters, financial statements, and other documents, using word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software.
3. Arranges/coordinates conferences, meetings, travel reservations or special events.
4. Reads and analyzes incoming memos, submissions, and reports to determine their significance and plan their distribution.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge:
1. Basic knowledge of admission practices and procedures.
2. Basic knowledge of information management and/or database systems.
3. Clerical - Thorough knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
4. Customer and Personal Service - Working knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
5. English Language - General knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
6. Advanced MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel).

Physical Requirements and Working Environment:
1. Speech recognition - must be able to identify and understand the speech of another person.

3. Near vision - must be able to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
4. Travel - must be able to travel on a daily and/or overnight basis.
5. May be required to work nights or weekends.
6. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
7. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils, and computer keyboards.

Required Certifications/Licensures:  
Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Major (if required):  
Required Experience: High School Diploma and five (5) years of experience in a student service area, preferably admissions.

-OR-

Associate's degree and three (3) years of experience in a student services area, preferably in admissions.

-OR-

Bachelor's degree and one (1) year experience in a student services area, preferably in admissions.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in higher education.
