Essential Job Functions: 1. Teaches a combination of four undergraduate/graduate course sections per year in various formats as necessary (on campus days, on-campus evenings, off-campus, online, etc.). This teaching load may be adjusted depending on grant activity for the CDD and the expected creation of a polling center.
2. Directs the CDD by providing a strategic vision, maintaining and developing new programing, engaging campus and community partners and cultivating new partnerships, writing and supporting grants that further the mission of the CDD, and to develop, operationalize and lead a polling center located within the CDD.
3. Participates in curriculum or program development, as assigned.
4. Be accessible to students according to College guidelines; maintain regular office hours for student advising and consultation.
5. Serves and contribute to appropriate College and University committees.
6. Provides community service and participates in University, College, and Departmental functions that contribute to campus life such as athletic events, orientation, receptions, etc. Contribute to fostering alumni relations. Commencement, College faculty meetings, and Departmental faculty meeting participation is mandatory.
7. Continues professional development activities.
8. Performs other duties as assigned by the Chair of the Department of Humanities and Politics and/or the Dean.
Marginal Job Functions:  
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Demonstrated experience in grant writing and a record of leading successful grants. Expertise in polling methodology and survey data. Proficiency in use of computer hardware and programming languages (SQL, R, Python etc.) relevant to polling.

Major (if required):  
Required Experience: Prior college-level teaching experience and leadership.
Preferred Qualifications: Record of leadership at the college level of organizations related to civic engagement (or similar areas). Expertise in polling and survey data. Record of successful grant writing and leadership. Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Political Science or related disciplines in the Department of Humanities and Politics.
